VPX Signal Processing Platform

The system is a signal processing platform in 3U VPX form factor. It consists of analog input frontends, digital control IOs, signal processors powered by FPGA and Zynq SOC,and a built-in power supply module. All components together fit into a rugged chassis compatible with 3U Eurocard system. The pluggable form factor complies with 3U VPX standard. Functional components are 3U Eurocard modules plugged onto a custom backplane. All IO connectors locate on front panels for easy operation. A conduction-cooling chassis is customized to host these modules. Modules are connected with a full-mesh network with SRIO x4 links on backplane. The links are full- duplex in x2 and x1(depending on slot position), providing high throughput DMA transfers from each to any other nodes. To emphasize reusability, all peripheral modules have a similar construction. It consists of a 3U carrier board and a FMC daughter card. There are two carrier boards featuring a Kintex-7 FPGA and one carrier boards featuring a Zynq SOC. Both types provided a FMC HPC site on which a FMC daughter card can be installed for specific function.
